a) This is not an attendance award, a tenure award, an achievement, or something one can campaign for or actively seek;
b) this award is for distinctive service which has no specific requirements;
c) is more a way of life than a set of achievements;
d) quality of character that is not tangible, but is discernible is actions, words, and attitudes;
e) “and will endeavor so far as in my power lies to be unselfish in service and devotion to the welfare of others” will be the benchmark by which the awards committee will select those to receive this award; and
f) the Committee will give consideration to all aspects of the nominee’s activities–Scouting, community, church , and others.
